Here some tips for roaming abroad
- Because you're on a local network, you will have to make sure that any Irish numbers have the prefix +353 before you use them plus the international dialling code for the country that you are in.
- If you want to hear your voicemail, dial your own mobile number (with the +353 in front of it) and add a 5 after the 87/86/85/83 prefix. So, if your mobile number is normally 085 1234567, dial international dialling code +353 85 5 1234567. You will hear your greeting - interrupt this by pressing the # key. You will be asked for your voicemail password.
- If you need emergency services, dial 911 in the U.S. and 112 in European countries. Outside Europe, emergency numbers are different in each country.
- Remember to top up before you travel abroad.
- Charges for roaming calls will appear on your regular bill, although sometimes they can take several weeks to process and appear.
- Don't forget to bring your charger and a plug adapter with you.
